This Radical, Praising Preacher, is a native of Mt. Vernon, NY who has called Winston-Salem, NC home since 1985. Pastor Taylor is a Proud Father and Dad; he has three daughters, Alysse, Kristen and Karen, and 2 sons Chris and Nathan, whom he loves dearly. He is a graduate of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. Pastor Taylor has also attended Davidson County Community College where he obtained his EMT-Paramedic Certification. Pastor Taylor served in EMS and Rescue for over 25 years. Not only aiding in saving lives spiritually, but also physically. Prior to launching Solely For Christ Ministries, Pastor Taylor served as an Associate Pastor, Youth Minister and Minister of Music at New Light Missionary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC where the Sr. Pastor is Sam P. L. Hickerson.
While overcoming many obstacles, such as growing up in a family of Jehovah’s Witnesses, it was evident through his ability of delivering God’s word that the hand of God was upon his life. Pastor Taylor was saved and also got his first start in gospel music in 1989 under Recording Artist now known as Bishop Christopher L. Brinson and Gospel Music Ministries. Under the leadership of the late Bishop Bobby Wilson, Pastor Taylor later joined the National First Lady of Mt. Calvary Holy Churches of America, Pastor Shirley Caesar Williams, on the “He Will Come” and “Just A Word” albums. June 19, 1994, Pastor Taylor answered the call to preach the Living Word of God. God demonstrated through him the proof of His delivering power by the preached word. It was then he began his journey as a messenger for the Lord at Mt. Calvary Holy Church now known as Calvary Covenant Fellowship under the great Leadership of his Pastor, now, Bishop Kelvin E. Shouse. It was then he was introduced to working in the music department of the Mt Calvary Holy Churches of America.
In 1999 Pastor Taylor ventured out and formed the group Solely For Christ, an organization established to draw, impact, and change lives using the Power and influence of Music. A group, that also demonstrates that you can have fun and have “A Life” while living for the Lord. They live by the principle of IPeter 1:16 “Be Ye Holy for I am Holy.” The group consists of members from various churches within the Piedmont Triad area and their prayer is that they draw people to Christ. Solely For Christ had the opportunity to open up for many recoding artist such as Darryl Coley and Platinum recording artist CeCe Winans during her Throne Room Church tour in May 2005. The group has also opened for Pastor Shirley Caesar, Martha Munizzi and Prophetess Juanita Bynum. Pastor Taylor has a deep heartfelt passion for people especially the youth. His heart is really in Outreach. He is compassionate about spreading the unadulterated, no sugar coated, true Word of God. This radical praiser is not your ordinary preacher. He is a man of great faith and remarkable integrity. It is apparent that God has anointed him to preach the gospel to all that has an ear and deliverance to the captives. As a result of his gifts and callings, Pastor Taylor has been favored in many avenues of ministry. He exemplifies the true meaning of God’s servant. Pastor Taylor has realized that his purpose is to help God's people understand their God-given purpose, empower, equip, motivate, and push them to their ultimate destiny. Pastor Taylor has a strong yearning to see lives transformed and restored.
